I spend a lot of time in the county of Oxfordshire in the UK and the province of Cádiz in Spain.
On this site I want to write about food and drink from some of my favourite places. There are sources of inspiration in both locations. In Thame the prime focus is our allotment garden (Huerta) where we grow organic fruit and vegetables. In Conil we live next door to the Mercado de Abastos which has ten fish stalls, three greengrocers, two butchers and a charcuteria.
When driving between these two locations we like to try different routes which take in different regions of Spain. Part of the fun is discovering regional food which we can try on the trip.
Before we embark on these road-trips I try to find out what we should be looking out for in the regions we are visiting. This research picks up the usual suspects…. but I feel I am only skimming the surface of what is available.
This site encourages me to explore in more detail and record my discoveries. I intend to concentrate on aspects that are not well covered elsewhere. I hope you enjoy what I share.
